Jet Rush
Jet Rush is a free arcade game you play in your browser. You fly a fast jet through tight courses and try to dodge everything in your way for as long as you can.
The controls take about two seconds to learn. Staying alive is the hard part, because the plane never slows down and the obstacles keep coming.
What is Jet Rush?
Jet Rush is an arcade platform game built around one jet and a course full of hazards. You steer left and right while the plane moves forward on its own, and the goal is to travel as far as you can without crashing. The further you get, the more coins you bank, and those coins go toward new jets and upgrades.
How to play
You only ever steer in two directions, so all of your attention goes into reading the course ahead.
Desktop controls
- A and D, or the left and right arrow keys, to steer the jet
- Spacebar to confirm a selection in menus
Mobile controls
The game also runs on touch screens. Tap the left or right side of the screen to steer the jet in that direction.
Coins and jets
Coins drop along the course as you fly. Pick them up by flying through them, then spend them in the shop on new jet models and upgrades. New jets are mostly a way to change how the game looks and feels rather than a shortcut past the difficulty, so you still have to fly well to get a good run.
Obstacles and records
The courses throw moving platforms, narrow gaps, and sharp turns at you, and the layout shifts the further you travel. Your best distance is saved, so each run is really a try at beating your own record.
There is no finish line. You fly until you crash, then you start over and aim to go a little further.
Tips for a longer run
- Steer in small taps. Holding a direction too long overshoots the gap and clips a wall.
- Look ahead, not at the jet. By the time a platform is next to you it is too late to react.
- Grab coins only when they sit on your path. Chasing one into a corner is how most runs end.
- After a few deaths in the same spot, you start to memorize the turn order, which is most of the skill here.
- Spend coins on a jet you actually like watching, since you will be staring at it for a long time.
What makes it hard
The speed is fixed and fast, so the game gives you very little time to think. One simple input, one fast plane, and a course that keeps narrowing. That gap between easy controls and a punishing course is the whole appeal, and it is why a run that lasts a few seconds longer than your last one still feels like a win.
Jet Rush on mobile
